Ghanaian artiste, Kurl Songx has recently shared a unique insight into his artistic evolution, revealing that he engages in self-critique by listening to his old songs.

The crooner revealed that he takes time to listen to his old songs, adding that doing so helps him to critique himself. The singer went on to say that times and seasons change, thus listening to his old songs helps him correct certain mistakes and flaws.

By revisiting his earlier work, Kurl Songx embraces a form of musical self-reflection, recognizing both the strengths and areas for improvement in his journey as an artist. He made the revelation during an interview with Andy Dosty on Hit FM on Daybreak Hitz.

”For me, I like to listen to them and also make corrections when it comes to what I am doing. Mostly, I listen to my old songs so it gives me a view of what I’m up to now. That is the main reason and I enjoy them as well.

“As humans we grow, so songs that I made some time back, maybe if I am approaching it today, I will approach it differently. It could be even the singing or the writing, it depends on the song, and they all come into play,” he said.

The ‘Jenifer lomotey’ hitmaker further stated that he does not follow current trends although they might help promote his music. He also expressed confidence in himself and his music.

“I choose to be different, and that’s because it’s like everyone is going in this direction, though it would take some time, I choose to be different, so I don’t follow the same line.  I know it will take time, but because I am doing good music, and I am not following trends, I know one day, they (the people) will get to understand me,” he emphasized.

Kurl admonished individuals to exercise patience in their line of work.

“Sometimes, you will want to be in people’s faces but I believe when you are following a good cause, it all takes time. Not every success is a scam and that’s what I believe in,” he concluded.
