Lincoln Community School opens ultramodern school building in Accra to advance quality education

After 54 years of promoting quality education in Ghana, the Lincoln Community School has officially opened its new school building in Abelempke.

Lincoln Community School is an international IB world school serving local and international families from 62 different countries of the world.

It has been present here in Accra for the past 54 years and currently has a roll of 600 students from early childhood to senior secondary school age levels.

On Wednesday, May 25th, the international school officially opened its new building in a ceremony well attended by students, parents, alumni and the media.

Accrording to management, in February 2021 phase 1 of the master plan approved by the Board of Trustees many years ago was completed and students and staff moved into the new three-story school building. Currently, planning is underway for the commencement of the second phase of redevelopment, which will include middle and high school classrooms.

The state-of-the-art new building which was designed to provide an enhanced learning experience was commended by the Honorable Minister for Education, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum.

Speaking to the media at the event, he said:

“I’m impressed without words for the great vision they have here at Lincoln school and the work that has been done. People came together, to give Ghana and its children a gift, they have given of themselves so much for this country. I am so happy to be here today and to commend them on the great work they are doing here.”

Present at the event were:  Olusola Ogundimu – Board President, Lesley Tait – Head of School, Sheena Nabholz – Former Head of School,  Deputy Inspector-General of Schools, Mr. Kwaku Mensah Appiah, and the Director, General Administration, Mrs. Rita Eva Arthur from the National Schools Inspectorate Authority (NaSIA),  Nicole Ann Chulick, Deputy Chief of Mission, US Embassy in Ghana, The Efua Sutherland family, Representatives of various embassies and high commissionaires, key stakeholders in  Abelebmkpe neighborhood, Staff and Alumni Students.
