It’s a brand new month and our African acts have been working hard to bring us exciting music and videos.  Here are three of my picks from Ghanaian-American Jay Ghartey, and Nigeria’s Overdose and Funbi.

Jay Ghartey brings onboard Ghanaian rapper, Okyeame Kwame on his new R&B single, ‘Me Do Wo (I Love You’, taken from his successful debut album, ‘Shining Gold’.  Shot in New York City and Accra, director, Abraham Ohene-Djan brings the love story alive with picturesque imageries from both cities.

‘Ginjah Me Up’, the fourth single off Nigerian rapper, Overdose’s ‘Hustle Or Die’ album is also a must-see. Overdose who recently concluded his role in a new hiphop movie is now working on his mixtape which he will release later on in the year. ‘Ginjah me up’ was shot and directed by Clarence Peters.

This is at least a month old but ‘Clockwork’ by Nigerian singer, Funbi  is easy listen record and the video shot against the beautiful Lekki, Lagos sunset by Walter (Walt Banger 101 productions) compliments  it beautifully.
