The three-times Grammy winner’s absence from all 2021 Grammy nominations in a year that he dominated the music scene and the charts astounded nearly all observers, and the artist himself has levelled an accusation of corruption against the Recording Academy. Meanwhile Nicki Minaj knocked the Recording Academy over an award she lost to Bon Iver (American Indie folk band) in 2012. Apparently, she assumes its because she’s a woman of color. Even so, there’s been allegations by many concerning racism at the Grammys.

“Never forget the Grammys didn’t give me my best new artist award when I had 7 songs simultaneously charting on billboard & bigger first week than any female rapper in the last decade- went on to inspire a generation. They gave it to the white man Bon Iver,” Nicki wrote.
