NPP Polling Station Chairman Arrested for Murder

The Tepa-Danyame New Patriotic Party polling station chairman, Kwaku Seidu, also known as Kukrudu, was detained by police in the Ahafo-Ano North area of the Ashanti region for reportedly shooting and killing his wife.

According to reports, the suspect, who is said to be in his 50s, shot his wife over family property he was trying to sell a week earlier to pay off a debt and give funds for the family’s maintenance.

After learning of their husband’s plan, Mr. Seidu’s two wives went to the Danyame Zongo Chief Nana Mazua and reported him.

As the Chief and his family members gathered to resolve the issue, the NPP chairman, angered by his wives actions, pulled out a gun and shot Sister Adwoa, one of his wives.

Enraged community members would have killed Mr. Seidu, according to Frederick Nyamekye, the assembly member for the Danyame electoral region, if it weren’t for the police’s prompt response from the Tepa District Command.

After being arrested and being battered, the NPP polling station chairman was taken to the Tepa government hospital for treatment under police supervision.

The deceased mother of three lifeless body has been placed in the morgue of the government hospital in Tepa for preservation.
