Nsoatreman FC wins 2024  MTN FA Cup

Nsoatreman FC secured their first major title by triumphing in the MTN FA Cup against Bofoakwa Tano at the University of Ghana Stadium, Legon,  on Sunday, June 23, 2024.

Bofoakwa Tano, a team which was recently relegated from the Ghana Premier League, initially took the lead in the first half and appeared set to finish their challenging season on a high note. 

However, under the guidance of seasoned coach Maxwell Konadu, Nsoatreman staged a second-half comeback.

Despite a deadlock in  the extra time, Nsoatreman maintained their composure in a penalty shootout, emerging victorious with a 5-4 scoreline, where 16-year-old Apetorgbor Foster netted the decisive penalty kick. 

Bofoakwa Tano had initially celebrated Richard Dzikoe’s well-executed 22nd-minute goal, but Nsoatreman equalized with just 11 minutes left in the regular time of the came. 

Consequently, Ghana’s representatives in next year’s continental club competitions will include debutantes Nsoatreman, alongside Samartex, who also clinched their maiden major trophy by winning the Ghana Premier League.
