A subsidiary of World No.2 producer of spirits and wines, Pernod Ricard Ghana has partnered with ‘Let’s Do It Ghana’, a franchise holder for World Cleanup Day in Ghana, to organise a clean-up exercise at the Laboma Beach Resort in Accra.

The cleanup activity was held to commemorate World Clean-up Day, which was observed simultaneously in around 164 nations. Tonnes of rubbish from the environment were collected during the activity by Ghanaian youths and other volunteers from the La Dadekotopon Township.

Sustainability and Responsibility Manager for Pernod Ricard Nigeria and Western Africa, Eunice Osei-Tutu, expressed her excitement to be part of the cleanup exercise and acknowledged that this promotes the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and is consistent with the Circular Making Pillar of Pernod Ricard’s Sustainability and Responsibility roadmap.

“The main reason for world cleanup day is to draw our attention to better manage the natural resources, these resources are finite and would not be here forever and Pernod Ricard is proud, this is our second year partnering with ‘Let’s Do It Ghana’ for World Cleanup Day.”

She continued; “The reason we are proud to be part is we need to further improve in how we design things when it comes to our production processes, distribution channels and us Ghanaians how we consume and dispose waste, the purpose of today is to try to conscientize the public that we reason through our daily actions.”

“It is a very fulfilling moment for us at Pernod Ricard as we join the world to preserve our natural environment and minimise waste. At Pernod Ricard, we always look for opportunities to advance sustainable actions that preserve the environment. Every step of operation at Pernod Ricard has been laced with processes that optimise and help preserve natural resources, she added.”
