Speaking about the genre and how far its come, Ghanaian musician Obrafuor who was a guest on Hammer Time on Pure FM acknowledged that Reggie Rockstone started a revolution by coining the term Hiplife but however wasn’t the first to rap in Ghana.

He said: “Reggie is a revolutionist, he brought some change. Before he came through there were the likes of Talking Drums,Mahony P and some people were already rapping so I won’t say he brought rap to Ghana.”
