Rema angrily abandons performance in Atlanta over disapproval with venue
Afrobeats star Rema abandoned his scheduled performance in Atlanta, Georgia on Thursday, July 27, citing poor conditions at the venue.
In a video, the singer, who is presently on his Raves and Roses North American tour, was heard saying that the show will not go on because of safety issues and “disrespect” for the audience and Afrobeats.
“We don’t move like this; Afrobeats is way too big to move like this. I don’t take no rubbish and I respect my fans.” he said.
Before leaving the stage, Rema announced that the show will be rescheduled.
“I’m going to reschedule this show [because] they have disrespected me and disrespected Afrobeats by treating you guys like this. I love you.”
