A Few Days Ones and Gingy Productions collaborate to bring you Roc Writah’s newest upbeat single “Complaints and Complacency.” The video shows Writah in his creative element writing the opening lines while rehearsing on stage submerged in lights. It follows with in and out scenes of him going back and forth with his thoughts, writings, and anxiousness to get back outside. Finally, after literally walking back and forth to the rhythm of Nikonor’s production, Roc grabs his mask and heads out for arguably the best part of the video. “I see you racist (races)…President Inauguration. Sticky situations, Solange in elevators.” Clever wordplay and double meanings, while hinting at disastrous pop culture seems fitting for the shedding of the shell in slow motion for Roc Writah, while entering back into the world that we for a short time lost.

Roc Writah describes this song as, “We were all forced in a space, no matter how much money, busy things on your schedule, your children’s needs, or even wanting to step outside for fresh air…all of that was put on a global hold. It weighed heavily on me at first, mentally and physically. But, as a few weeks passed, I realized the amount of time I had to be in thought, reflecting on a lot of choices good and bad that I made. Instead of indulging in the chaos happening in the world, I wanted to push myself to be a better person, creator, and map out my future post-covid. That’s the basis of this song, is the triumph, and willingness to get active and knowing the difference between fulfillment and complacency.”
