Santrofi and Yaw Tog performs at Zen Garden today for the last chapter of “Deep into Highlife” concerts

Only time will tell what Santrofi – one of Ghana’s best-selling bands and the hardest working indigenous highlife band in Ghana – has up their sleeve for their forthcoming European summer tour. But, Santrofi is at least giving their fans a sneak peek into preparations ahead of their upcoming European tours which start next month May.

Since last year in November, Santrofi has been putting up monthly mini concerts at popular joints in Accra including Kona Grill and Lounge, Plus 233 Jazz and Grill Bar, among others with delectable performances dubbed “Deep into Highlife” concerts. Today’s edition happens to be the last chapter of the mini concerts.

The concert comes off today Saturday 9 April 2022 at the popular joint Zen Garden, a truest representation of Ghana’s authentic nightlife culture setting based in Labone. The show opens at 7pm prompt.

Tickets are available directly at the venue, Zen Garden. Hospitality packages are also available at the venue, with these including parking, a buffet meal and access to a private bar.

The concert features fast–rising Ghanaian rapper, Yaw Tog who broke out with his viral hit “Sore”.

The “Deep into Highlife” concert throws light on the historical journey of Ghana’s Highlife music genre; from the funky Highlife of the 60’s to the disco Highlife of the late 70’s and then to the Afro-highlife of today.

So, to the many Ghanaians, encompassing entertainment critics who are very worried that the indigenous Ghanaian highlife music will die to modernity, the antidote to your disappointment is hugely found in Santrofi – a vintage international Ghanaian highlife band. Currently, Santrofi is on a mission to resuscitate and dominate the indigenous highlife music in Ghana, and across the international music landscape.

According to the organizers of the “Deep into Highlife” concerts, as Highlife has been around reinventing itself in amazing and ever-changing methodologies, the concert seeks to open a new chapter in this historic and dramatic story.

According to Emmanuel Ofori, the band leader said: “if you come here tonight to have a good time, if you’re proud of where you’re coming from, you only have to be part of tonight’s historic concert. So get ready to come to come and dance, laugh and enjoy a full evening of melodious vibes. Let’s celebrate and revive our highlife together.”

The concert is a cooperation between Santrofi from Ghana, Outhere Records – a highly-acclaimed German record company, and Eiden Music Agency – which is well known for touring bands from Brazil, Africa, UK and around the world.
