<![CDATA[Sir Richard Branson, the President of Virgin Group on behalf of Virgin Atlantic Airways has reacted to the death of President John Evans Atta Mills by stating, the Board members and Management staff of the airline were in shock to learn about the death of the President of Ghana on Tuesday. He stated:”It was with much regret and surprise that I learned about the passing of President John Evans Atta Mills of Ghana. I had the singular pleasure to spend some time with him at the Osu Castle when I visited Ghana on 24th May 2010. We were launching new flights to Accra and the warmth and hospitality which the President showed towards me and our entire delegation brought confidence and assurance that we were in good hands.” “President Mills has served the country and the people of Ghana with a calm, peaceful hand and as a member of the Elders Organisation brought together by Nelson Mandela in 2007 I wish to state that I identify in President Mills many of our goals as I note him to be an elder statesman of Ghana, a follower of peace and an advocate for human rights and dignity.” “I further laud the smooth transition of power to his immediate successor President John Dramani Mahama as I convey my thoughts to the family, the new Government and the people of Ghana at this difficult time.”]]>
