According to the ’16 years’ hitmaker,  social media is increasingly being utilized for negative purposes, such as character defamation and the dissemination of falsehoods.

She criticized various online publications for their tendency to publish unverified information in pursuit of attracting clicks.

“I feel like a lot of people are taking advantage of social media to do wrong things. We are abusing social media. Irrespective of the calibre of people, netizens will find a way to disrespect someone…Social media has become like a weapon,” she bemoaned.

“I’ve used some media people before and taken a couple of people on, but it was not made public. They have learned their lessons and have repented. One is a journalist, and the rest are bloggers,” she said.
