While ‘Sex in The City 2’ continues to enjoy patronage in cinemas across the globe, Ghana’s ultimate chick flick, ‘The Perfect Picture’ is also rumoured to have sequel in the works.  According to an insider source, Shirley Frimpong-Manso and her Sparrow Production team will commence work on the sequel sometime in July.

Although the sequel might not be titled, ‘The Perfect Picture 2’, all three of the girls will return to continue the award winning story in a direction that is being secretly guarded by Sparrow Production. Whatever the direction might be, certainly it would be interesting to see how it plays out on screen. It would also be interesting to see if the first-time mother, Shirley would incorporate motherhood in the sequel for any of the girls.

The Perfect Picture, which revolved around three beautiful young women struggling for love, has won several pan-African awards including Africa Movie Academy Award (AMAA) for best director and best soundtrack. And for the first time in the history of cinema, 3 actresses from one movie (Jackie Appiah, Lydia Forson and Naa Ashorkor Mensah-Doku) won the award for Best Actress in a Lead at the 2010 AMAA.

It would also be interesting to see how well these ladies act together in the sequel following a seeming rift between Lydia Forson and Naa Ashorkor on one side, and Jackie Appiah on the other. According to media reports, Lydia and Naa weren’t too happy with what they described as attempts by Jackie to steal the shine of the AMAA nod all for herself.

Bring it on girls!!!
