The National Women’s Summit & Expo 6.0 Comes Off On 8th March!!

In commemoration of International Women’s Day, Charterhouse in partnership with Geisha presents the National Women’s Summit & Expo 6.0 – Ghana’s biggest conference for women, on 8th March, at the Accra International Conference Centre from 9am – 8pm.  

The National Women’s Summit and Expo is Ghana’s leading conference for women held in celebration of International Women’s Day. In its sixth year, it is a day set aside to acknowledge and celebrate the progress and achievements of women in various fields of endeavour, whilst inspiring the next generation with their success stories.  

Threading on the global theme; Inspire Inclusion, interesting panel discussions and Master Classes centred on inspiring inclusion for gender equality will be held by an eclectic mix of female across generations and professions. 

The Keynote speaker for this year is the Vice Chancellor of the University of Ghana – Prof. Nana Aba Appiah Amfo. 

Speaking on the topic; ‘Inspiring Inclusion in the workplace and community’ are Ama Sarpong Bawuah (Board Chair, Access Bank), Dr. Celestina Allotey (Vice President, Sustainability and External Relations, Goldfields), Evelyn Oye Lamptey (Area Controller, Air traffic Control, Ghana Civil Aviation Authority) and Naa Ju Yoo Oshedu Wor Borlor Jwerteer I (Manye Tsofayelor), Ga Traditional Leader, La Agbawe Kplen.

The second Panel discussion is on the topic; ‘Women Inclusion in Leadership’ with speakers, H.E. Simone Giger (Swiss Ambassador to Ghana, Togo & Benin), Odelia Ntiamoah (Global Director, Oxford Africa Women’s Leadership Institute), Constant Tchona (Plan International Ghana, Country Director) and Becky Ahadzi Esq. (Coordinator, Affirmative Action Bill Coalition)

The third panel discussion will be centred on ‘Women in creative arts- Towards more Inclusion’. And sitting in on a round table discussion are; Gyakie (Artiste), Lydia Forson (Actress), Endurance Grand (DWP Academy), Adina (Artiste), Sumaiya Dzietror (Creative Director of Pistis & Fashion Entrepreneur), Vivian Boateng (CEO, Vivies Dance & Theatre Academy), Dellasie Amino (Ghanaian-American Recording Artiste – Afro-fusion) and Selina Beb (Fashion Designer-Accessories). With Actor/Theatre Producer, Naa Ashokor as Moderator.

The summit will see various master classes with reps from Executive Women Network (EWN) with topic; Inspire Inclusion- Collaborative Effort. And reps from MEST with the topic; Radiant Voices- Empowering Women to speak with Confidence. 

The Expo and Demo includes; fashion & beauty, world of taste, wellness & health, kitchen & home décor, leisure & adventure and many more.

As part of advocacy, the National Women’s Summit will be presenting a petition on behalf of girls and young women to Parliament for the passage of the long overdue AFFIRMATIVE ACTION BILL. We will also be doing a ‘PAD A GIRL’ drive with PLAN INTERNATIONAL.
