‘The second coming’- John Dumelo to contest Ayawaso West Wuogon Parliamentary Seat again

Ghanaian actor, John Dumelo has announced a second attempt at securing the Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency parliamentary seat.

“After an extensive consultation with my God, my family and our party faithfuls in Ayawaso West Wuogon! This’s the second coming,” Dumelo announced Sunday, February 26.

This will be his second attempt at contesting the Ayawaso West Wuogon parliamentary seat under the ticket of the National Democratic Congress (NDC)

In the 2020 general elections in Ghana, popular actor and entrepreneur ran a very successful and impactful campaign towards securing the Ayawaso West Wuogon Parliamentary seat on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

The seat was then occupied by Hon. Lydia Alhassan, who faced John Dumelo in a heated competition leading up to the election.

Although John ran a very successful campaign, he lost to Lydia Alhassan at the polls when he garnered 37,778 votes as against Lydia who polled 39,851 votes.

After threatening to contest the results and ask for a recount, John later rescinded his decision and Ms Lydia was declared winner of the seat.

Meanwhile, a new candidate, actor and Dumelo’s best man, Fred Nuamah has also declared his intention to contest the parliamentary seat for the Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency under the ticket of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
