Transport Fares To Be Reduced Effective May 17

Effective Wednesday May 17, 2023, Ghanaians, most especially public transport users will enjoy a 10 percent fare reduction following the continuous decline in the prices of petroleum products in the country for the past few weeks.

According to a press release  jointly signed by the General Secretary of the Ghana Road Transport Coordinating Council, Emmanuel Ohene Yeboah, and Godfred Abulbire, General Secretary of the Ghana Private Road Transport Union, the decision is in line with Administrative Arrangement on Public Transport Fares, to accommodate the reduction in prices of petroleum products observed over the period.

The statement made known that the new fares will affect shared taxis, intra-city (trotro), intercity and haulage vehicles.

Commercial transport operators are however, advised to comply with the new fares and post same at their loading terminals.
