While some see famous figures as influential voices that can sway public opinion, others, like renowned hip-hop producer Pharrell Williams, are expressing frustration with the trend.

Williams, taking an apolitical stance, criticized the growing practice of celebrities publicly endorsing political candidates. According to him, he gets annoyed by his colleagues making public political endorsements.

The producer further asserted that the opinions of most of the celebrities endorsing candidates for the election were unsolicited.

In his words, “There are celebrities that I respect that have an opinion, but not all of them. I’m one of them people [who says], ‘What the heck? Shut Nobody asked you’,” he said.

So far, a number of American celebrities including Taylor Swift, Megan Thee Stallion, Billie Eilish, and a host of others have publicly endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris.
