VGMA 24: Ras Kuuku rooting for Black Sherif to win Artiste of The Year

Well Known Ghanaian reggae and dancehall artiste, Kojo Kurakye, also known by the stage name Ras Kuuku has divulged that his colleague musician, Mohammed Ismail Sherif, will win the ultimate award in the forthcoming 2023 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards.

Ras Kuuku made this statement while speaking in an interview on TV3’s New Day morning show today, April 20, 2023. According to Kuuku, the ‘Kweku the Traveller’ hitmaker has a higher chance of winning the Artiste of the Year, adding that it would be difficult for him (Blacko) to go home with the Reggae song or Reggae Artiste award because of the stiff competition in the category.

Ras Kuuku who spoke highly of Black Sherif’s success revealed that it was due to his hard work and dedication to his craft and talent.
In the words of the ‘Show them love’ hitmaker, “This time we have worked hard. Everyone knows about ‘3 3 in 1’. This year is not going to anyone who is not a Reggae/Dancehall artiste.”
Ras Kuuku who spoke highly of Black Sherif’s success said it was due to his hard work and dedication to his craft. “Let me tell you Black Sherif is winning the Artiste of the Year because he worked hard but when it comes to the Reggae side, we [Ras Kuuku and team] worked harder,” he hammered.

The sensational reggae artiste continued by opining that he was on the verge of winning at least one of the awards he’s been nominated for at yet to be held VGMA for his album “3 3 & 1 (Miensa Miensa Ne Baako)’ He explained by saying, “For the genre, it’s Ras Kuuku who did best, and you know it. It’s coming back to Puom. If not Reggae Artiste of the Year, Reggae/Dancehall song is coming to Puom.”
The ultimate award at the VGMA (The Artiste of the Year) is biggest award given the artiste who has made the most significant impact in the country’s music industry during the previous year. Blacko, Piesie Esther, Camido, Stonebwoy, Kidi and King Promise are the musicians nominated for this year’s ultimate award.
