Ghanaian Afropop and R&b singer, Camidoh has stated that he dropped an EP instead of an album to further solidify his brand some more.

From selling clothes in his car trunk, to owning a premium fragrance brand- Story of MacBancy C.E.O

According to Camidoh, in an interview with Zeinat on Ameyaw TV, people from outside of Ghana only got to hear about him and his music through his hit single “Sugarcane,” so he felt he needed to release an extended playlist to further solidify the brand.

Camidoh, who has several hit singles and an EP to his credit, explained that he needed to tease his new fans/ followers with new music before an album.

“Strategically, we felt like we had to solidify the brand some more, like people in Ghana know Camidoh that I’ve got couple of tunes and that I’m really this good or that, but people outside Ghana in the other side of the world like they pretty much just know me for ‘Sugarcane’, might as well just give them something to really understand that this is a grounded artist. We just wanted to really solidify the brand globally before we put out my major project,” he told Zeinat.

After a successful 2022 run with his hit single “Sugarcane”, the “Top Boy” has released a new project, titled,”A lifetime is not Enough.”

Camidoh reveals that he started working on the EP just a few months ago, at the tail end of 2022, after experiencing a roller coaster of emotions from his musical success and love.

“The latter part of 2022, it was just a mix of emotions and situations happening and then I decided that I’m just going use this as a real life story to just make the whole EP. So, if you listen to the EP you could tell from the beginning that I have like life has been like a downhill type of stuff like I have been battling with my mind and a whole lot and then also like love and affection all came in at some point and I just had to tell of that story, just a whole bunch of stuff but it is just like, I am just that type of guy who likes to talk about love, I love to just put it all behind me and talk about love so yeah so I made a whole bunch of like love songs,” he stated.
