Growing Up Immigrant

Growing Up Immigrant is a 6-episode cultural comedy and web series that explores the dynamics of first-generation Ghanaian-American millennial Nicholas Aajayi as he navigates his career and romantic life while adjusting to living with his more “traditional” aunty.

The series was recently screened at the Pan-African Film Festival, receiving great reviews.

The year 2019 marks 400 years since the first enslaved individuals landed in Virginia. As such, 2019 has been dubbed the “Year of Return” and there’s a renewed interest in Ghana and many in the African Diaspora are planning to travel there this year.

“Growing Up Immigrant” is a perfect fit not just for ‘Year of Return’ but also ‘Black history month ‘. The cast includes  Nathaniel Kweku, Akuyoe Graham, Peterjohn Minto, Jessica Obilom, Josh Davis, Michelle Kim, Eric De’Wayne and more. Check it out!
