In a twist of events, Chief Stylz, manager of Dancehall sensation Stonebwoy, disputes the National Sports Authority’s (NSA) reported GH¢70,000 payment for the Accra Sports Stadium rental during Stonebwoy’s 5th Dimension concert on December 22, 2023.

Contrary to NSA Director General Peter Twumasi’s disclosure during a committee session on February 5, Chief Stylz asserts that the actual payment exceeded the reported amount, refraining from disclosing specifics due to ongoing scrutiny by the Public Accounts Committee. Speaking on Hitz FM’s U Say Wetin show on February 6, Chief Stylz sheds light on his involvement in negotiating and facilitating the stadium rental, citing contractual obligations as the reason for withholding detailed information.

This discrepancy arises amidst the Public Accounts Committee’s investigation into NSA operations, raising questions about the accuracy of the disclosed stadium rental fee. Chief Stylz’s assertion of a payment surpassing GH¢70,000 adds complexity to the discussion, challenging the NSA’s revenue generation strategy.

The controversy further compounds existing criticisms directed at Peter Twumasi, who faces accusations of neglecting stadium maintenance and favoring stadium rentals for non-sporting events at the expense of Ghana’s Premier League clubs.
