Ghanaian actress, Efia Odo has expressed her disapproval with Fred Nuamah wanting to run for office in parliament.

Speaking on UTV’s United showbiz, Efia Odo  explained the reason for her disapproval with Fred Nuamah contesting for an office in the parliament of Ghana.

According to her, although Nuamah is a good contestant, he has not delivered in his role as the C.E.O of the Ghana Movie Awards, therefore, will not be a good fit for the role of a parliamentarian.

‘‘I’m not saying that Fred Nuamah is not a good contestant, I’m just saying that, something like Ghana Movie Awards where you are supposed to award people and give them their plaques and you are not able to deliver that, how can you deliver in this too.

‘‘Because since 2018 I haven’t gotten my plaque and a lot of people have complained about this, and you’ll go upstage with your plaque and you have to give it back to them backstage,’’ she said.

Efia thinks politics is all about delivery, being able to deliver when you are handed a position to do something, but she doesn’t see Fred Nuamah as up to the task.

‘‘It’s about delivery, you’ve started a program and these are the basic things like if someone wins an award you give the person’s plague to him/her and they are supposed to have it, so if you can’t deliver in that, then how are you going to deliver in politics,’’ Efia concluded.

Fred Nuamah declared his intention to contest as the Member of Parliament, MP for Ayawaso West Wuogon on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress, NDC, alongside John Dumelo.

Social media users have reacted strongly to Fred Numah’s plans to run in the same constituency as his friend and colleague John Dumelo.
