Our Top Looks From The GTP Wear Ghana Fashion Festival 2021
The pandemic had nothing on this year’s Wear Ghana Fashion Festival, mainly sponsored by Ghana’s textile giant, GTP giving us another successful fashion show for the third year in a roll.
This year’s edition of Wear Ghana Fashion festival, a presentation of authentic Ghanaian fabrics in fashion was hosted virtually, and featured some of Ghana’s top fashion designers all using authentic GTP fabrics. The month-long festival was produced at some beautiful and breathtaking sites in Accra, like the Legon Botanical Gardens, National Theater of Ghana, Kwame Nkrumah Mausoleum and the One Airport Square.
GTP has been collaborating with the National Commission on Culture and the National
Theatre of Ghana since 2019, as the major fabric partner and sponsor to give the festival a big boost and raise awareness and pedigree of ‘Made-In-Ghana’ Clothes among fashion enthusiasts and the general public.
The virtual show featured 12 of Ghana’s best designers: Mimi Yeboah, Dufie Boateng, Eugene D’Wise, Sena Byrte, Linda Ashong, Smully, Nuna Couture, NicolineGh, Alwoman, Quophi Akotuah, Kaishika, and Nipo Skin all showcased beautiful, classy, stylish, and bold designs all using the GTP fabrics.
Consumers were able to shop some of the designs on the e-commerce platform (www.buygtp.com) in partnership with a Ghanaian startup (KUDIGO) to support the local tech ecosystem. All authentic GTP prints can now be purchased on www.buygtp.com with nationwide, global and same day delivery.
The Wear Ghana Fashion Festival was streamed live on GTP’s official Instagram (GTP_FASHION), Facebook account (GTP FASHION) and YouTube (GTP fashion). Hashtag: #WEARGHANA21 and #WGFF21
