21 LGBTQI members arrested and remanded into police custody in HO

The police have arrested 21 persons in Ho for gathering to push the LGBTQI agenda.

An update from the police point to the fact that the 21 persons; 16 females and 5 males have been remanded into police custody after their rest on May 20, 2021.

They were arraigned before the Ho Circuit Court after their arrest on Thursday and charged with unlawful assembly.

The court presided over by Justice Felix Dadzomor declined the bail application by the counsel for the accused persons.

Some items retrieved from the suspects included materials on LGBTQI+ and transgender activities used during their gathering and their mobile phones, which are in the custody of the police to aid in their investigations.

According to the police, the program was sponsored by some organizations championing the activities of LGBTQI.

These persons will be in court on June 4 2021.
