Veteran Zambian rapper, MrVezzy warms up for 2016 with the release of “Dear Salary.” One could label this a tearjerker. Only it is not about loss of a romantic nature, but an ode to a carelessly spent salary. December seems to have such an effect on a lot of us. In the song, January finds MrVezzy broke, and without recollection of how his salary was spent. He raps, “Dear Salary, you went away too quickly… if you see the family, everybody is angry nobody is understand me, because they are hungry.” DOWNLOAD You wouldn’t know it, but this song was recorded about 7 years ago! It features the Zambian songbird Franciar and was produced by renowned record producer Yahya ‘KB’ Kaba at his K-Amy studio.

Dear Salary is available on MrVezzy’s latest album “Malango.” MrVezzy was previously known as L’Ve. Malango is his first full length release since the name change. Other singles released from album include “Ni Ma Dalitso” and the lover’s anthem “Ngathi Nili Naiwe,” which recently got the video treatment by way a remix featuring Roberto.

2016 marks the 10 year anniversary since the release of the iconic “L’Ve for President” album which spawned such hits as “No Sweat. No Sweat” “Viva La Vito,” “Kodi Kodi” and “Winsula.” To mark the anniversary, The Black Rabbit intends to release an opus set containing remastered select songs from the critically acclaimed debut album.
