Obuor visits British Musician's Union

obuorThe President of Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) Bice Osei Kuffour aka Obuor is on a two week trip to the UK and the US. The Musiga President who left on Friday will be in the UK for a week after which he will go to the US. While in the UK, Obuor will meet the General Secretary of the British Musicians Union, John Smith and other leaders of the Union. Issues to be discussed include a Twinning Proposal for a partnership between the British Musicians Union and Musiga. This is in the spirit of a Federation of International Music scheme adopted at the recent FIM conference in Oslo. Items under consideration in the proposal include the Exchange of direct and regular information, Training activities on unionism and vocational practices (legal, technical, etc.), reciprocal visits. Musiga also hopes to benefit from advice on Intellectual Property issues and collective management Organization. Addressing a National Executive Council meeting on the eve of his departure, Obuor assured the Council of  leadership’s resolve to work assiduously to improve the lot of musicians in Ghana noting that his trip is in that regard. In a related development, Ahuma Bosco Ocansey has been appointed Administrator of Musiga as part of measures to achieve the AJUMAPA agenda of the union.]]>
