Ghana Police have blocked protestors from getting access to the Jubilee House on day two of the “Occupy Julorbi House” demonstration.

Hundreds of protestors, who met at the 37 lorry station to march to the Jubilee House have been denied access.

Protestors walked into a road block by the Police at the 37 Military hospital. Police were armed in swat gear with armoured vehicles.

Protestors have since sat down on the floor and taken over the road while they wait for something to change.

On Thursday, September 21, the first day of the “Occupy Julorbi House” protest was met with a Police ruse. Protestors were arrested and detained at various police stations in the city.

All 49 protestors who were arrested were however, released on the same day.

The “Occupy Julorbi House” three-day protest was organised by pressure group “Democracy Hub” to call on “the President and members of the Economic Management Team to #FixTheCountry in light of the level of economic mismanagement and theft that has engulfed our government from the highest levels.”

“The picketing will also allow citizens to express their opposition to the proposed military intervention in Niger as well as any other government policy decisions or initiatives,” organizers added.
