Sparrow Productions is taking steps to sustain its image as one of the leading producers of quality Ghanaian movies; and great innovators in the industry by being the first production house to stream a high quality full length movie online.

Sparrow Productions has teamed up with US-based Ghanaian multimedia company, SriBuO and will be broadcasting Shirley Frimpong Manso’s “A Sting in a Tale” via the internet to the whole world for free screening. The broadcast will be in High Definition, for those whose internet speeds will allow it on the video sharing site, YouTube.

This screening would allow lovers of African cinema across the globe to see this award winning movie. According to George Armah, the Chief Dreaming Officer of SriBuO, the company for some months now, has been working hard to start delivering Ghanaian cinema to the rest of the world. And with this streaming, SriBuo is ready to launch its foray into the movie sector.

He comments: “The planned date for this is August 14th and we would like as many views of this award winning movie as possible. We believe this will go a long way in taking Ghanaian and African cinema global.”
“A Sting In A Tale” is a twisted tale of two unemployed graduates who embark on a journey to make it in a world where you need more than what you have to get what you want. Kuuku (Adjetey Annang) is overwhelmed with the urgency to succeed and frantically searches for a reward to his several years of school. Frustrated and constantly reminded of his failure by the presence of his girlfriend, (Lydia Forson), Kuuku will do anything to make the odds work in his favor.

Nii Aryee (Majid Michel), Kuuku’s abstemious looking friend is more positive about the future until the rejection letters begin to mount and his landlord comes to town. Driven by the fear of poverty, these two friends go in search of a destiny that takes them to the most obscure places. In a tale where the unexpected is always lurking in the shadows, from the natural to the supernatural, among all ploys, grief and struggles, nothing prepares you for the sting, in a rather bizarre ending.
