The youth of Big-Ada and its environs, under the auspices of Okor Waves, a community development oriented group, in the Ada East District in the Greater Accra Region, is embarking on a Health Walk to promote healthy living among the people of Ada.

The event is dubbed, Valentine Health Walk, and it is schedule to come off on Saturday 13th of February, 2016, at 6am. The walk will commence from Big-Ada Presbyterian Park to Ada Foah and back to Big-Ada Presbyterian Park for aerobics and refreshment.

The walk will attract not just the youth of the town but many others from around the Ada community.

The aim of this health walk, apart from promoting healthy living, will seek to foster unity among the youth of Ada and help generate ideas to promote the tourism potential of the town.

In December 2015, the youth undertook a successful clean-up exercise and fun games at Ada Foah which was heavily patronised. Okor Waves have planned numerous community based activities for the year which the group shall row out periodically.

Nene Aguh, the Convener of Okor Waves, added that ‘the greatest wealth in life is health, so the youth must do well to keep a healthy body, mind and soul, as they would keep their life time treasures’. He is urging the youth to come out and participate in the event and take the opportunity to make new friends.

“Ada is huge and has many potential tourist sites that attract lots of tourists on a daily basis but we the youth do not take much advantage of this. We are by these activities laying the foundation to promote a united Ada so that we can generate ideas as to how the youth can take advantage of the huge tourism potentials of the area.
