On Sunday 6th November 2022, Nigeria will be hosting the first African premiere for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever at Filmhouse Cinemas – Victoria Island, Lagos Nigeria. The African premiere is set to celebrate Wakanda and the Marvel Studios’ film franchise and all its African heritage and richness.

An African premiere of the sequel to the Black Panther movie, hosted in Nigeria, sheds light on the global rise and impact of the African entertainment industry. This recognition attests to the incredible talent and work showcased by Africans in the creative industry and promises to fill the atmosphere of the premiere with celebration.

The allure and glamour that dominates African movie premieres, will not be lost at this event with notable A-list actors, filmmakers and entertainers walking the carpet before watching one of the most-anticipated movies of the year.

In celebration of the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, the dress code is  “AfroFuturism: Show Them Who We Are!”, a theme that is adequately depicted in the movie. As a whole, AfroFuturism synergizes aspects of science fiction, magic realism and fantasy to reimagine Afrocentrism. Representations of this would include futuristic accessories, metallic fabrics and makeup looks merged with African prints/fabrics and hairstyles.
