As the award winning ‘Mirror Boy’ continues the journey of its worldwide premiere, 2011 African Movie Academy Award Best Actress winner, Ama K Abebrese is set to host celebrated Nigerian actress, Genevieve Nnaji in Accra for the Ghana premiere of the movie.

Already being touted as ‘the Red Carpet event of the year for the Silverbird Cinemas’, the June 17 premiere is expected to sparkle with glitz and glamour as the who’s who of Ghanaian movie, sports and music celebrities and fans alike turn out to watch the critically successful movie. Ama K Abebrese will be hosting the glitzy event in front movie stars Genevieve Nnaji, Osita Iheme and Obi Emeleonye.

Ama may be the reigning queen of the screens for the African Movie Academy Awards but can she topple Genevieve in the fashion arena this weekend? Genevieve was simply stunning at the London premiere of ‘Mirror Boy’ at the world famous Empire Leicester Square in February. She was spotted in an ensemble consisting of a coat from Zed Eye (Ngozi Pere Okorotie), and Jewel by Lisa dress. Her coat was from Zed-Eye’s Autumn/Winter 2011 collection, while the dress was a colourful tasseled dress with alternating Ankara panels.

Tijan, a London born teenage African boy (Edward Kagutuzi) is taken by his mother Teema (Genevieve Nnaji) to visit Gambia for the first time. At a crowded street market called Serekunda, he suddenly becomes separated from his mother and soon finds himself lost in the African wilderness. Bewildered and confused, he must find his way back. But to that, he must confront his deepest fears and embark on a journey of self-discovery, led by the enigmatic Mirror Boy (Osita Iheme); where the lines between reality and fanstasy, physical and spiritual become forever blurred. His arrival at a small village called Makasutu upsets an evil Queen (Fatima Jabbe) who wields her magical powers against his innocent presence.

A mystical and cathartic climax helps Tijan to unravel the mystery of The Mirror Boy and why his life was inter-twined with a man he has never met. The story will unfold at the star-studded premiere this Friday.
