Ameyaw Can Cook: Shrimpy potato pottage

Ameyaw Debrah gives an Eurocentric twist to traditional Ghanaian pottage, ‘Mpoto mpoto’. Mpoto Mpoto is a Ghanaian cuisine made from cocoyam or yam. It is also known as Yam Pottage and Asaro by Nigerians. It is made from several ingredients including fish and onion.

Ameyaw’s recipe introduces the use of potato and shrimps and takes away the use of palm oil.

Ingredients:

5 Irish Potatoes

1/2 kilo Shrimps

5 medium-sized Tomatoes

3 peppers

Salt and seasoning
