Disc Jockeying in the past, has been a male territory, but as the showbiz industry is evolving, a lot of females are breaking boundaries and rubbing shoulders with their male colleagues, spinning & scratching and basically just being the life of the party.

Number 5 is Dj Ryna.

She is the Resident Dj at Movenpick ambassador hotel. She has also played at the Women in Diplomacy event hosted by the Foreign affairs minister, the Dj for miss Ghana 2018 and nominated in the 2017 Ghana Dj awards for discovery Dj. Dj Ryna is currently working with Anita Erskine On her new project on SDGs. And oh, Did I mention she’s an editorial model as well? Her dream is to be a UN Diplomat.

Number 4 is the delectable Mz. Orstin.

Mz Orstin is a radio Dj with YFM and resident Dj at AM & PM Sports Bar. Barely seven months into the game, Mz. Orstin was given the task to handle “Wednesday Nights” at Bella Roma nightclub. She has also played in almost all the trendy and popular clubs and bars in Accra such as Plot 7 ,Twist and Sky Bar, Firefly Lounge among others. Mz. Orstin also performed on the Miss Malaika 2017/2018 stage. She’s also currently the only female DJ in Ghana, to organize and host her own live concert, “Live Jam With Mz.Orstin”.

Number 3 is the nicest DJ Nyce.

Performing on huge sets like Vodafone 020 Live Concerts, Girl Talk Concert with Efya, Sound City Activations, and Tidal Rave, she has secured her spot. DJ Nyce is not only making people dance, she’s also empowering women through her “Nyce to be a woman’ campaign which has featured celebrities like Vanessa Mdee (Tanzania) , Richie (Lynx Entertainment), Jupitar, DJ Vyrusky, BerlaMundi, Mzvee, Feli Nuna and more. She has won several awards and has received several nominations including one from the prestigious Afrimma Awards.

Number 2 is the one and only DJ Kess

DJ Kess discovered her talent pretty early in Senior High School when she was made the school’s official DJ. What looked like a one-timer became Kess’s profession after immense training. She has since been DJ’ing professionally for the past 7 years. She has won Best Female DJ at the Ghana DJ Awards two times in a row, and also nominated for the Best Female DJ at African Global DJ Awards in Johannesburg, South Africa. She is also a host DJ on YFM.

Number 1 is DJ Switch.

9 year old Erica Tanoh is undoubtedly the baddest female DJ making waves in the country and beyond. After emerging as winner for Talented Kidz season 8, DJ switch has gone on to perform at both local and international stages. In June 2018, Erica became the youngest person to win at the annual DJ awards and three months later, she opened the Bill and Melinda Gates’ Foundation’s annual Goalkeepers event in New York, as the warmup act to French President Emmanuel Macron. She was also exceptional on the 2018 AFRIMMA stage. DJ switch also performed for Prince Charles and his Camilla when they visited Ghana last year.
