Shopping online whilst in school has never been easier with the introduction of the Linkop app. Students have over the years yearned for a solution that brings ease to trading on campus; a platform that guarantees security and safety whilst wiping out fraud.

The new Linkop app is a safe, secure and convenient student marketplace which allows tertiary students to trade both intra and inter campuses.

Students now have the opportunity to buy items from the comfort of their campus without having to take a trip.

The startup e-commerce platform aims to become the ‘Amazon’ of tertiary education in Ghana, offering an intriguing option to the shopping needs of tertiary students in a way they never had before.

A wholly Ghanaian owned company, Linkop offers safety and security guarantees to all users of its platform through two unique value propositions.

Reliable refund policy

Linkop eliminates one hazard of shopping online with its groundbreaking inspection before payment policy.

‘What you ordered vs what you got’ memes exist because it is easy to buy a great looking product online and find something completely different when you take delivery.

Linkop provides students the chance to inspect products upon delivery, ensuring customers are satisfied with their item before approving payment.

Once you make an offer for a product and it is accepted, you make payment on the app either via mobile money or using your bank card.

Linkop holds the payment until the transaction is concluded to the satisfaction of all parties. When the product is delivered, you inspect it and make sure it is up to your expectations.

Once you are satisfied with the product, Linkop releases payment to the seller. However, if the product does not meet your standards, you simply cancel the transaction and get your money back from the app.Via this policy, Linkop guarantees 100% customer satisfaction.

Safe and secure

Taking delivery of items bought from random shops online can come with safety issues, particularly when arranging delivery.

Using the Linkop app eliminates this hazard entirely.  By limiting users of the app to students, the identity of everyone on the app is identifiable and serves as a check on fraudulent activities. Meeting on campus to receive delivery also ensures the safety of both buyer and seller.

How it works

Linkop is an app available on both the Google Playstore and ioS App Stores on which students can buy and sell virtually anything they need online.

Users of Linkop are verified students as they have to register with their university domain emails or student IDs.

Students who want to sell on Linkop only have to take a snapshot of the item, price it, upload it on the site and wait for buyers to contact them.

Students who want to buy on Linkop simply have to check its numerous categories such as electronics, lifestyle products, fashion, books and beauty for what they need.

Once you find an item you like, you can buy it outright or make an offer. A great selling point for Linkop is that item prices are negotiable. Once your offer is accepted, you make payment via the app using mobile money or your bank card. You then arrange for delivery with the seller – on campus.

Linkopp also gives students the chance to purchase products from verified vendors and companies who have gone through and passed its rigorous verification process.

This exposes students to companies and products that help address other critical additional needs such as food, accommodation etc.

About Linkop

Linkop is an indigenous Ghanaian owned start-up aimed at solving the shopping needs of students on all tertiary campuses in Ghana. It was formed by three young Ghanaians – Samuel Forson Kwakye, Frank Danso and Samuel Menyah Asah-Kissiedu – who had a vision to address a critical problem they identified in Ghanaian tertiary education.

During their university days, the founders noticed the lack of real options on campuses to help students make certain purchases they needed in a timely, efficient and safe manner. Linkop is their attempt to address that need whilst also promoting entrepreneurship amongst students.

“Our main aim for starting Linkop is to stimulate the entrepreneurial spirit in young students to run their own businesses even whilst still on campus,” said Samuel Forson Kwakye of Linkop.

Unlike many other similar platforms, Linkop is 100% operated and owned by young Ghanaian entrepreneurs: providing an indigenous alternative to the numerous foreign owned online shopping platforms.
