Ghanaian singer, Becca is set to release a very African music video for her already buzzing and empowering single, ‘African Woman’ on Friday February 25. The video, shot by American film maker Samad Davis, tells a poignant story about the daily hustles of a young African woman trying to survive, in a very picturesque rural Ghana.

Writer/producer/director Samad Davis’ credits include Mooz-lum, Three Blind, Glimpse, and Whiteboyz in the Hood (TV series). He also directed Three Can Play That Game, Durdy Game, and Comedy Only in da Hood. Through his current works with Magna World Partners Inc., Samad’s talent and business savvy has taken him into 5 different countries and counting in Africa, to vividly capture, document and to help address the development needs of struggling Nations.

The ‘African Woman’ video which was shot in Akosombo, has Becca taking on a completely new personality, as common village girl and a street hawker.  It also features actress Martha Ankomah and a cameo appearance by Becca’s ubiquitous manager, Kiki Banson who took on a rather opposite role in the video.

With an open message of ‘Diamonds take the character form the African Woman”, both the video and the song is an appraisal to the beauty, character and personality of the African woman.  It empowers women to know their capabilities, and encouraging them to achieve their dreams and potentials.

The ‘African Woman’ video is the third video from Becca’s highly anticipated sophomore album.  It will air this weekend on Metro TV, TV3, e.TV Ghana and the web.
