Bliss Kingg and Jackie Acquaye reveal why they resigned from Metro TV

When news broke that Bliss Kingg and Jackie Acquaye had left Metro TV’s  ‘Good Morning Plus’,  after hosting the show for two years, there were speculations that the couple were axed from the TV station because a video of them discussing why Beyonce didn’t have a music video with Shatta Wale went viral, with a lot of backlash.

The couple denied the claims in an interview on Ameyaw TV.  “ We decided to resign. It is not a decision that came abruptly like the media makes it look. Everyone has a career plan and I speak for myself when I say it was time for me to move on from Metro; and it just coincided with Jackie’s own plans to move on and do her own things also,” comments Bliss Kingg.

“We had resigned two weeks before the whole Shatta Wale video resurfaced. We had  given them notice prior to the D-day that we wouldn’t go to work again. I have been at Metro for almost 6 years; you outgrow the place, you feel like you need new challenges, you feel like there are other things that you have to do, and  aside media there are other opportunities to explore. So basically it was because of my own personal growth,”  added Jackie.

The couple didnt say much about what is next for them but they promised that if anything new comes up for them, we would be the first to know. So stay tuned
