‘Borga’ sweeps Ghana Movie Awards 2021

Multiple award-winning film, BORGA swept the most laurels at 2021 edition of the Ghana Movie Awards.  The film won Best Picture, Best Directing, Best Cinematography, among others.

Earlier in 2021 Borga won Best Direction at the 2021 New Berlin Film Awards and the lead actor, Eugene Boateng won Best Actor in a leading role at German Screen Actors Awards, making him the first black person to win that award.

Borga follows a story by Eugene Boateng and York-Fabian Raabe and is a collaboration of Ghanaian and German creatives in both Ghana and Germany. Borga has received rave reviews and several screening among black communities in in Germany, where the film has been described as a movie telling a Ghanaian story that is changing German perception and society step by step.
