Born on February 21, 1998, George Kofi Mensah popularly known as G-West was raised by both parents Mercy Ofori-Atta and George Kofi Mensah at Kwadaso, a suburb of the “The Garden City Kumasi in the Ashanti Region of Ghana.

As every parent wants their children or wards to access quality education, so did the parents of G-West, so they started his educational journey at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology Primary and Junior High School after which he passed his Basic Education Certificate Examination and continued Senior High School studies at Prempeh College also in Kumasi.

In a juicy conversation with entertainment host King Sedinam of EBN TV, G-West spilled the beans of how he broke the heart of his parents after he decided to pursue a career in music following high school, shuttering all hopes of his parents seeing their son go through all schools need to become what they envisaged.

He again said that his mother who he thought would not like the idea accepted what career path he had chosen whereas his father wasn’t so much in support of it but gradually understood and embraced the path G-West had chosen.

Since then, his parents have provided him with unwavering support. This support has played a crucial role in enabling him to follow his passion and pursue his dreams in the music industry.

G-West expressed gratitude for his parents’ encouragement and understanding, recognizing the importance of their support in his journey as a musician. Their backing served as a source of motivation and empowerment for him as he embarked on his musical endeavors.
