The 2014 Ghana Music Awards nominations have seen Black Avenue Muzik’s first official signee ‘Joey B’ score a total of 6 nominations including Discovery of the Year with two of his hit tracks ‘Tonga’ and ‘Cigarette’.

With nominees Joey B, Kumi Guitar and Akwaboah gunning for Discovery of the year, It’s very easy to place your bets on who walks away with the award for Discovery of The Year this year though says D-Black.

It’s been a year since we signed Joey B onto our label and since then he’s performed extensively promoting his brand. From his feature on my song ‘VERA’ last year till we dropped his first video for the ‘Strawberry Ginger Remix’ ft. myself and E.L in May 2013, to dropping ‘Cigarette’  seven months ago in August and the third single which is currently the number one song in Ghana ‘Tonga’ barely three months ago the young lad has been working magic on the radio and on t.v.

Joey B has performed in numerous cities in Ghana including Kumasi, Sunyani, Accra, Tema, Takoradi, Cape Coast, Swedru, Ho and lots more in the year under review. He has been billed on most of the high profile concerts held in Ghana in the past year including Citi fm’s Decemba  2 Rememba, Ghana Rocks, The Sarkology Concert, The Tigo Around the World Concert, The Club Shandy Beach Concert as well as at the upcoming Night Train Beach Concert on the 29th of this month. Joey just came off tour with me in London, Amsterdam, Italy and Coventry after we both attended the Channel O Awards last year when VERA was nominated. He has huge songs now of his own and is hands down our new artist of the year says D-Black. None of these new acts nominated holds a candle to him in regards radio and tv airplay or popularity that’s for sure.

His fans are die hard and definitely will vote him the Discovery of the Year at the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards, ended the C.E.O of Black Avenue Muzik.
