Darius, the son of Ghanaian pastor Maxwell Appiah, went missing on January 23, 2024, after leaving work for lunch. Despite initial efforts hindered by a mysterious phone shutdown, a search party composed of church members, emergency workers, and volunteers located his body after two days of searching from Alum Springs Park, where his car was found.

The Stafford County Sheriff’s Office is now leading an investigation into the circumstances surrounding Darius’s disappearance and death. City police spokeswoman Sarah Morris confirmed that Darius’s body has been taken to a medical examiner’s office to determine the cause of death.
