Ghanaian rappers go on an ‘Oleku’ trip – which is your favourite?

When Gyptian released his smash hit ‘Hold Yuh’, it triggered tonnes of remixes, covers or whatever you want to call it on the Ghanaian music scene. Both established and unknown artists jumped on the beat to deliver their own versions with some hits and misses. Now there seems to be a new craze and this time it isn’t coming from too far away!

Fast growing Nigerian rapper, Ice Prince’s hit song, ‘Oleku’ featuring Brymo seem to have started a new craze among Ghanaian rappers. There are countless remixes including an official remix with D-Black.  After meeting an insider from Chocolate City Entertainment, the record label for Ice Prince, it appears that the Nigerian rapper has a special interest in Ghana’s fastest rapper, Sarkodie’s version.  While rapper, Trigmatic says he doesn’t want to jump on the Oleku beat out of his love and respect for the original version, his counterparts say ‘why not?’
