Ghana’s Nana Yaa Serwaa Sarpong honoured as Female Entrepreneur of the Year at AWELFA 2023

Ghana’s Nana Yaa Serwaa Sarpong has been honoured for her contribution to Women and Business in Africa at the Africa Women Economic and Leadership Forum and Awards (AWELFA 2023), held in Cameroon. During the forum, Miss Sarpong spoke on the “Impact, Opportunities and Strategies for Women in Entrepreneurship under the AfCFTA”. AWELFA later presented Miss Sarpong with an award as Female Entrepreneur of the Year.

Nana Yaa Serwaa Sarpong, is a multiple award-winning Media, Marketing & Communications Practitioner, Humanitarian and Entrepreneur. She is also a Lecturer in International Marketing, Women and Youth Empowerment Coach, an Ecosystem Enabler, Social Impact Facilitator and Africa Trade Facilitator.

Nana Yaa believes in making significant contribution to society through her volunteer activities and philanthropy and holds several board chairmanship and membership roles. She is the Chairperson of the Northern Innovation Lab Foundation and sits on many advisory boards of institutions including The Methodist Church Ghana/Wesleyan TV, Humanitarian Awards Global, The Global 48 Hour Film Project Franchise in Ghana, Women In Media Foundation, amongst others.

Nana Yaa Serwaa Sarpong is a sought after Keynote Speaker who has been celebrated across Business, Gender, Media, Academia, Humanitarian Works, etc through numerous Awards and citations.

Nana Yaa was honored in November 2022 with the Top 100 Achiever Award by her alma mater, the Ghana Communication Technology University and Anhalt University, Germany.

She is also a two-time honouree of the prestigious Forty Under 40 Awards Africa in recognition of her excellent contributions in industry for the categories of Marketing and Communications as well as Professional Services for the years 2022 and 2020 respectively.  In 2021, Nana Yaa was honoured and awarded by the Humanitarian Awards Global for her humanitarian support and works.

Her contribution to Ghana’s Media landscape for the last 24 years has won her the admiration of the industry and garnered her numerous notable awards including, Media Personality of the Year by the Ghana Leadership Awards, The Ghana Peace Awards for her extraordinary leadership achievements and contribution to Ghana’s Media landscape and towards Social Change, Kids Choice Awards for her Outstanding Contribution to Kids Television and Entertainment as well as receiving the outstanding Channel Manager award at the C-BAZE Awards 2018, in recognition of her superior leadership and contribution to Media and Entertainment in Ghana.

Nana Yaa Serwaa Sarpong is the Founder of the League of Extraordinary Women and the League of Extraordinary Youth Networks. She is an accomplished entrepreneur and CEO of the front line Business & Consulting firm and Elohay Group, which has successfully rolled out many projects in areas such as Trade Partnerships, FMCG, Business Development, PR, Advertising & Marketing campaigns to Local , African and International organizations. She also oversees the operations of the Methodist Church Ghana’s Wesleyan Television Station.

Nana Yaa Serwaa Sarpong holds a joint MBA International Trade degree from Anhalt University, Germany and Ghana Communication Technology University, Ghana. She also holds an LLB Laws Degree from Mountcrest University College, Ghana, a Chartered Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing from CIM UK and a BSc. Business Administration Degree from the University of Ghana Business School.
