GhroupDrive: Meet the young entrepreneurs making hiring & booking of buses an easy task in Ghana

Ameyaw TV recently had the privilege of speaking to a group of young Ghanaians, with a dream to provide transport solutions to Ghanaians, one bus order at a time. The CEO (Patrick Kumah),  Marketing and Design Lead (Osei-Tutu Agyemang Prempeh), and the Campus Lead, were at our studios to shed more light on their innovative App, Ghroupdrive.

Ghroupdrive has launched a new transportation app, which allows both android and iOS users to request for buses for any occasion in a few minutes from any location in Accra and soon from other Regions in Ghana. The Ghroupdrive App was developed by a team of technology innovators to fulfil the market need of finding an easier way to hire or book buses without having to visit any bus station.

The app was introduced after the team identified the complex nature and the difficulties involved in hiring buses for a few hours up to several days in the capital. With the introduction of the Ghroupdrive app, individuals and organisations will now be able to conveniently request for mini or large buses with qualified drivers whose priority is safety. The app can be used by religious bodies, social groups, companies, and any individual who need to secure a hired bus for group trips, employee transportation, funerals, school trips, airport pickups and drop offs trip within the shortest time.

The Ghroupdrive app has been developed specifically for the people of Ghana by taking into account the very challenges the average Ghanaian faces when in need of a bus service. Also, starting this February, Ghroupdrive will reward you anytime you refer someone to order a bus; you receive GHS 50 each time a bus is ordered with your referral code within 30 days of your referral.

How to get started
Go to the Google Play store or the Apple App Store and download the Ghroupdrive app. Enter your desired destination and the number of people to get on the bus. (In order to remain transparent to you, the app shows you your estimated cost before you confirm, after which a bus will be assigned and sent to you).

Each bus request comes with a link that can be shared via chat apps or publicly in order to get the passengers to confirm their seats and also keep track of them. With our open request feature, a user who is not certain of the number of passengers to be on a trip may choose not to indicate the number of passengers at the time of the request. After the request, they simply share the unique bus link to allow passengers to join the bus by confirming their seats. Ghroupdrive will send a bus based on the number passengers who confirm their seats.
