Givit Ghana Launches "Back to School Donation" Initiative to Support Underprivileged Students.

In Ghana, many students face the challenge of attending school at the beginning of the academic year without basic supplies due to financial constraints. To address this issue, Givit Ghana has launched its inaugural “Back to School Donation” initiative. This program is part of Givit Ghana’s broader mission, which focuses on resource redistribution, education support, and capacity building.

Under its education support arm, Givit Ghana aims to help underprivileged students stay in school by identifying and assisting them with essential supplies for their education. This includes providing school uniforms, exercise books,

notebooks, and other essential stationeries. These gestures put smiles on the faces of the students, boost their confidence, and have a positive overall impact on their academics.

For the upcoming academic year, Givit Ghana aims to raise funds to provide exercise books, notebooks, and other essential supplies (including textbooks if possible) for students in lower basic, upper basic, and junior high across different public schools.

Seeing the potential impact of this initiative, the team is calling on the general public to donate in cash or kind for the success of the project.

Earlier this year, Givit Ghana donated school uniforms to a few students in

Answaru-Deen Islamic Basic School. This was the group’s very first donation, and this is what the Deputy Headteacher, Madam Barikisu Suleiman, said about it:

“On behalf of Answaru-Deen Islamic Basic School, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Executives of Givit Ghana for the benevolent gesture towards the less privileged learners in our school. The new school uniforms you’ve provided have brought smiles to their faces. May Allah abundantly bless you for your kindness.”

How to Donate:

Donations can be sent to 0550027437 (Lukman Issah). Every pesewa raised will go towards getting the essential items for the students, and every contribution, no matter how small, will make a significant difference.

The team expresses it’s sincere gratitude to its donors and supporters so far, and encourages the public to spread the word about the initiative to potential donors (both individuals and organizations) and to volunteer to contribute to the success of the initiative.
