Whereas the majority of Ghanaian Christians are taking solace in the fact that the death of Christian Atsu was God’s will, Ghanaian actor, Majid Michel begs to differ.

According to him, the “God gives and God takes” phrase taken from the scriptures has been taken out of context by Christians, and do not reflect the true meaning of the saying.

In an interview with Andy Dosty on Daybreak Hitz, Majid Michel explained that the phrase was made out of anguish by Job in the Bible, which has now become a doctrine.

“I don’t believe in ‘you don’t know what will happen tomorrow, God gives and God takes.’ That is a lie! It was Job that made that statement.

“That ‘God gives and God takes’ statement, Job said it out of anguish! It was Job’s words and now we have made it a doctrine. It’s false. God doesn’t give and God doesn’t take anything,” he told Andy Dosty.

Majid Michel believes Christian Atsu’s death was premature and shouldn’t have happened this soon.

“Atsu wasn’t supposed to die. It is a premature death, Atsu wasn’t supposed to die. God didn’t take Atsu nowhere,” he added.
