‘I was in a state of shock’- Amerado on winning ‘Best Rap performance’ at the VGMAs
Ghanaian rapper and songwriter, Amerado has always wanted the “Best Rap Performance” plague, so when he was announced as winner at the 2023 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards, he was overjoyed.
In a recent appearance on ‘Daybreak Hitz’ with Doreen Avio, Amerado shared what a big moment winning the award was for him.
“I have always wanted this plaque. I was in a state of shock. It was like I was dreaming. So when I was announced the winner of the Best Rap Performance category, all I said to myself is ‘Thank you God Finally! Third time lucky,” he said.

The ‘Abotr3’ hitmaker added that he wasn’t positive about a win for the just ended VGMA Awards because that was his third nomination in the same category without a win.
“Every year, I feel like I deserve it, but then most of the time I lose, I remember I won the 3music award, but this time around I wasn’t too hopeful, but this time around, I had like 60 per cent hope I would win,” he stated.
