B.E.T award-winning rapper, Sarkodie has finally addressed allegations against him by Yvonne Nelson in her memoir, and his response with a “diss” song, titled “Try Me.”

According to Sarkodie, in a  new interview with Angela Yee, former Breakfast Club host, he did not address it via the media but through music because he did not want to lose how it was presented.

“To be very honest, it is a sensitive conversation that’s the reason why I did not do any media rounds or press around it is because I might lose how I will like to present how I feel about it,” he stated.

Explaining further, the “No Pressure” hitmaker stated that although he’s not entirely proud of way he addressed the matter, it was something that he needed to get off his chest.

“This is not the first time, I’ve done records to address issues or maybe a line or two just to address them because I don’t know, there’s a certain energy I hate to feed into especially about it because I might lose my cool. So, for this situation, yeah, exactly, I’m not going to sit here and say I’m super proud of everything, it’s just in the moment how I felt, whether it be my truth, it should have been a way that you could have said it that’s why I don’t like to speak about it,” he explained.

Sarkodie further expressed his disappointment at not been contacted by Yvonne to have a conversation about what happened, rather than putting it in a book for world to read.

“This is a conversation between two people. We could have had a conversation about it because it involves me as well but because people know that Sark doesn’t speak people think they can say something and get away with it. Once in a while, you just have to,” he added.
