It’s sad fake men of God rather have large following – Ohemaa Mercy

Contemporary Ghanaian gospel musician, Ohemaa Mercy has expressed deep concern over the increasing trend of self-proclaimed “men of God” with questionable motives gaining large followings.

In a recent interview with Nana Romeo on Accra FM, the ‘Ote Me Mu’ singer lamented the fact that these individuals, often referred to as fake pastors, are attracting massive congregations despite their dubious practices and teachings. She also bemoaned the negative impact this has on Christianity.

The gospel music diva  asserted that the majority of these pastors have lost touch with their core mandate, which is to be instruments of God’s word and be fishers of men. She stated that  many Christians are victims of these charlatans because they have failed to learn the word of God.

Ohemaa Mercy further highlighted that these so-called men of God are often more focused on personal gain than genuine spiritual leadership. She noted that many of them exploit the faith and desperation of their followers, promising miracles and blessings in exchange for financial contributions.

This exploitation, she argued, undermines the true essence of Christianity and misleads vulnerable individuals seeking spiritual guidance. The gospel musician is certain the Holy Spirit has departed from such pastors whose only focus is to make money.

The award-winning singer  went on to  pray for the spirit of discernment to guide Christians to identify fake men of God.
