Keep Highlife alive – Akosua Agyapong urges musicians

Akosua Agyapong has urged up and coming, young artistes in Ghana to keep the highlife music alive.
Speaking to Becky on the E WITH BECKS SHOW, the singer said that the current generation should not let highlife music die. She encouraged them to do more to preserve the genre.

“To my young ones, despite the insults don’t let highlife die,” she said.

She also advised the musicians in the “new school” to take oldies in the entertainment industry industry as their friends. “Some of the new female musicians will see me and were not friendly and they just pass by”

The singer also hinted of a possible collaborate with musicians in the “new school” such as Wendy shay, Kuami Eugene and Mzvee.

Her first album was, ‘Frema’ which had songs full of inspirational like ‘Me ye Obaa’, ‘Born again’, ‘Anan tuo’, ‘San be hwe wo mba’, among others.
